DON QUIXOTE is an American original heavy metal band from Sterling, Virginia formed in September 2010. Don Quixote’s core line-up consists of vocalist and guitarists Cesar “Nano” Vascones, bassist Luisa “Lula” Neira, and drummer Jorge “Bicho” Navarrete.
Musically, the band implements elements of traditional heavy metal bands such as Judas Priest, Scorpions and Twisted Sister, along with a style that is similar to early "hard rock“ bands like KISS and Motley Crue. The band is generally categorized as a revival of heavy metal from the '80s, although the band does not consider themselves to be so.
The songs varied from simple and straightforward tunes (e.g. “Entregalo") to fairly structured material, changing from fast and loud to slower tempo and softer tunes in one song (e.g., “Despertar",and “Libre").
Don Quixote’s music is a commercially potent mix of anthemic, fist-pounding hard rock, driven by sleek hooks and ballads powered by loud guitars, cloying melodies, and sweeping drums, plus lyrics in Don Quixote’s language: Español De Puta Madre!.
